My steps don't show up.
Open or return to the app, or tap Steps & status › Check for new steps. The game imports only then.
Check Steps & status › Connection: the game needs the Health Connect read Steps permission.
Open Health Connect and see if the steps are there. If they are not, the watch or fitness app has not synced yet. They count as soon as they arrive.
Why didn't my steps from before I installed count?
Only steps walked after your first launch become attacks. Your history is never turned into a free head start.
Are phone and watch steps counted twice?
No. The game reads Health Connect's merged daily total, which already removes the overlap between sources.
My step total went down in Health Connect.
A corrected-down total never takes earned attacks back, and the same steps never count twice.
I didn't open the game for weeks.
Health Connect lets apps read about 30 days back. Steps older than that can be missed, and the game shows a notice when there is such a gap. Opening the game once a month avoids it.
Does the game fight while it is closed?
No. There is no idle damage or timer. Steps you walk while the app is closed are fought the next time they are imported, summarised in one line.

Is it really free?
Yes. There are no ads, no purchases, no subscriptions and no premium currency. All gold is earned by walking.
Can I tap to attack?
On the trail, only to release steps you already walked: pause auto-attack and use Strike or All. A tap never creates an attack. The Active Trial in town is the separate mode where taps are the attacks.
Where did my gold go?
An ascension resets gold on hand, hero upgrades and levels. When rules v2 arrived, profiles at Area 11 or deeper were converted once with a free ascension that paid renown for the run.
Why can't I ascend?
Ascension opens at Area 50 (rules v3). If the Ascension page says it earns no renown, your current run is not deeper than your best banked run yet. The page names the area to beat.
I switched hero and lost damage.
Levels and tiers belong to their hero and apply only while that hero is selected. Switch back and the damage returns; nothing is lost.
Does the 6,000-step goal unlock something?
Not yet. It is an undecided milestone, and it will never be needed to see progress.
Do outfits make me stronger?
No. Outfits are looks only. Your chosen hero decides how you fight.
Backup & accounts
Backup is off by default. Turn it on under Settings › Backup with an email and password. Google sign-in is shown, but it is not set up in current test builds yet.

How do I move to a new phone?
Turn on backup on the old phone and wait for Backed up. On the new phone, install the game and sign in with the same account. It restores automatically when nothing local would be lost, and steps already counted are never paid twice.
Does turning backup off delete anything?
No. It only signs this phone out. Your local game stays.
How do I delete my data?
Settings › Backup › Delete my cloud data (two taps) deletes the server account and everything in it. The game on your phone is not touched.
I forgot my password.
The reset request exists, but email delivery is not connected in the alpha yet, so the email will not arrive. Your local game is unaffected.
What is uploaded?
Game operations and daily step totals only, never raw Health Connect records. See Privacy.
Something looks wrong

The battle shows "Artwork unavailable".
The art could not load. Your game is unaffected, because combat never depends on art. Update to the newest APK; early test builds missed some foe sprites.
"Step access is off".
Open Steps & status › Connection and follow the button to grant the Health Connect permission.
Health Connect is missing or outdated.
Android 9–13: install or update the Health Connect app from the Play Store. The game offers a button.
Nothing moves after a long walk.
Check whether auto-attack is paused. The battle plate then says "Auto-attack paused · N steps saved". Strike, or turn auto-attack back on.
The app was updated and my area reset.
Rule updates that change the economy convert old saves once, with a free ascension when the old area would be unbeatable. Your steps, badges, records, outfits and trial are kept. See What's new.
